The Gender, Communication, and Development Division, operating within the Institute for Leadership and Development Communication, is committed to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment through the strategic application of communication and development initiatives.

The Gender, Communication, and Development Division has a clear mission to champion gender equality, empower women, and confront gender-based disparities by utilizing communication and development approaches. Its primary objectives include:

Gender Mainstreaming: Advocating for the seamless integration of gender perspectives and considerations into all facets of development policies, programs, and projects.

Capacity Building: Equipping individuals and organizations with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to promote gender equality through effective communication strategies.

Research and Analysis: Conducting research studies that delve into the intersections of gender, communication, and development. These research findings inform evidence-based strategies and policies.

Awareness and Advocacy: Raising awareness about gender-related issues and spearheading advocacy efforts that aim to bring about policy changes fostering gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Community Engagement: Actively engaging with communities to catalyze gender-sensitive development initiatives that address specific local challenges and requirements.

Networking and Collaboration: Collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations, women’s groups, and international partners to forge a united front in advancing gender equality.

To realize its objectives, the Gender, Communication, and Development Division conducts an array of activities:

Gender Mainstreaming Workshops: Organizing workshops and seminars aimed at promoting the seamless integration of gender considerations into development policies and programs.

Capacity Building: Providing comprehensive training programs that empower both individuals and organizations with the skills and knowledge required to advance gender equality through strategic communication.
